Bread Knife Manslaughter Lady Cleared by Crown Prosecution Service

A coroner has ruled that Elaine Parker, from Lancashire, deliberately stabbed her husband who later died in hospital on Friday 5th March 2010. John Parker, 58, was stabbed in the stomach by his wife with a 12 inch bread knife.

She told police that her husband came home drunk and was violent towards her as his evening meal was not ready. Mrs Parker said she was holding the knife making a sandwich and somehow her husband fell against it. She said that she tried to push him up or catch him. Mr Parker was rushed to Preston Hospital but sadly died of his injuries the next day during emergency surgery.

John Parker, a medical engineer, was married to his wife, Elaine Parker for 34 years at their family home in Gregson Lane near Preston. His wife was charged with Manslaughter; however these charges were dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service.

John Parker's brother Phillip called on the police and CPS to reopen the case following the judgment...
